The Twin Cities Ponds and Landscape Tour showcases the area's most spectacular landscapes and water gardens. The tour is brought to you by Hedberg Landscape & Masonry Supplies, participating Certified Aquascape Contractors, residents and commercial sponsors. The tour features water gardens with cascading waterfalls, meandering streams, swimmable ponds, a variety of aquatic plants and fish, and landscapes that range from simple to stunning with stone and paver patios, outdoor kitchens and fireplaces, multi-level patios, lush gardens, stormwater management and the hottest new trends in landscaping. There's even a tiki hut! The self-guided tour takes place in July at homes throughout the Twin Cities. Each $15 ticket includes a wrist band that provides entrance to all of the locations on this tour, along with a map to the locations and descriptions of the features you will find at each site. 100% of the ticket price is donated to Children's Cancer Research Fund. 2012 Tour dates are July 21-22.
The online tour contains photos, videos and stories about various landscapes in the Twin Cities built by homeowners and professional landscapers. Freewill donations to Children's Cancer Research Fund are encouraged and may be made via this website on behalf of Children's Cancer Research Fund.
Water Gardening has become a popular hobby and many Twin Cities residents currently enjoy creating balanced ecosystems that invite nature into their yards. Water gardens can be as small and small and simple as container gardens and as vast as multi-acre swimming ponds with streams and waterfalls. Some sustainable water features harvest and store thousands of gallons of rainwater for subsequent irrigation use.
